Plasmalogen

Plasmalogens are a kind of phospholipids with antioxidant activity. They exist in all mammalian tissues and constitute about 18% of all phospholipids in human body. It has become evident that plasmalogens are enriched especially in brain neurons, cardiac muscle, lymphocyte and macrophage, and that they have control over primary functions of cells including antioxidation.
